"[T]his president...will appeal more to the youth generation. Something about him feels punk rock and rebellious."

Turning Point USA communications director Candace Owens joined Fox News’ Judge Jeanine Pirro this weekend to make the claim that young Americans are drawn to President Donald Trump because “something about him feels punk rock and rebellious.”

Via Contemptor:

“69 percent of people aged 15 to 26 disapprove of President Trump’s performance as a president,” Pirro stated in literal disbelief during a panel segment on the youth vote. “Wait a minute. Isn’t the economy doing great now? Or is it not?”

Owens brushed off the numbers by noting that they “don’t pay attention to much to the polls” because the polls also said that Hillary Clinton would win the 2016 presidential election. (It should be noted that Clinton won the popular vote by three million and 55 percent of voters aged 18-29 chose her.)

“But this president, in particular, will appeal more to the youth generation,” the one-time Kanye West friend said. “Something about him feels punk rock and rebellious. He’s rebelling against the establishment and the mainstream media.”

And rebellion is super relatable for younger people, she said: “It’s something we identify with. When you are younger you are in a more rebellious stage.”
