REPUBLICAN LAWMAKER LINKS “OUTRAGEOUS RHETORIC” BY DEMOCRATS TO TODAY’S SHOOTING

New York Congressional Republican and Trump ally Rep. Chris Collins claimed “outrageous rhetoric” by Democrats was tied to today’s shooting of Republican lawmakers.

“I can only hope that the Democrats do tone down the rhetoric,” Congressman Collins told WBEN. “The rhetoric has been outrageous … the finger-pointing, just the tone and the angst and the anger directed at Donald Trump, his supporters.”

He added, “You know, some people react to things like that. They get angry as well. And then you fuel the fires.”

There has yet to be an official confirmation of the gunman’s motive for the attack.

A gunman attacked a group of Republican lawmakers earlier today as they played baseball in Alexandria, Virginia.

Prior to the shooting, the gunman allegedly asked Congressman Ron DeSantis (R-FL) if the baseball players were Democrats or Republicans. At least five people were injured in the shooting.

The shooting was stopped by the security detail of Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA). His security detail is made up of members of the Capitol Police.
