REPUBLICAN CONGRESSMAN BOOED AND JEERED BY AUDIENCE THAT HE PRE-SELECTED

Iowa Congressman Rod Blum (R) walked off an interview after being asked by reporter Josh Scheinblum why he was pre-screening attendees for his next town hall.

Following his exit from the interview, Mr. Blum arrived for his town hall several hours later, where it was reported that the Congressman’s staff had pre-selected the audience.

Even though the audience was pre-selected as noted by the Washington Post, this did not save the Congressman from frequent jeers and screams.

Mr. Blum a member of the ultra-conservative House Freedom caucus stumbled while trying to explain his vote for the American Healthcare Act, a bill that would strip health insurance from an estimated 24 million Americans.

The Congressman at times misrepresented the nature of the bill, maybe because he didn’t understand it or because as he admitted the bill was “rushed” and the “process was bad”.

If you’re getting your insurance through Medicare, nothing’s going to change. Nothing’s going to change. If you’re currently getting your health insurance through Medicaid nothing’s going to –.” It wasn’t clear what the Congressman’s final words were due to the cacophony of anger emanating from his constituents.
