REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE IN GEORGIA: “I DO NOT SUPPORT A LIVABLE WAGE”

Karen Handel, the Republican Congressional candidate for Georgia’s sixth district, said she doesn’t support a “livable wage” during a debate with her Democratic adversary Jon Ossoff.

“This is the difference between being a liberal and a conservative. I do not support a livable wage,” Karen Handel said. “What I support is making sure that we have an economy that is robust with low taxes and less regulation,” the candidate added.

Both Ms. Handel and Mr. Ossoff are competing to replace ultra-conservative Tom Price. Former Rep. Tom Price joined the Trump Administration as his Health and Human Services Secretary.

Ms. Handel was responding to a comment made by Mr. Ossoff that Americans are having trouble paying their bills while simultaneously working full-time jobs. Based on her comments, Ms. Handel was not empathetic to this plight.
