Trump claimed all Haitians had AIDS and that Nigerians live in huts, according to the New York Times.

During a rant regarding immigrants entering the United States, President Donald Trump disparaged people who had arrived in the country from Haiti and Nigeria, according to the New York Times.

Haiti had sent 15,000 people. They “all have AIDS,” he grumbled, according to one person who attended the meeting and another person who was briefed about it by a different person who was there.

Forty thousand had come from Nigeria, Mr. Trump added. Once they had seen the United States, they would never “go back to their huts” in Africa, recalled the two officials, who asked for anonymity to discuss a sensitive conversation in the Oval Office.

The outburst reportedly came after Trump's friends had called to say that he looked like a fool for promising to beef up border security yet thousands of foreigners were flooding into the country.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders denied Trump made the remarks, saying the New York Times printed "lies" from "anonymous 'sources'":

While the White House did not deny the overall description of the meeting, officials strenuously insisted that Mr. Trump never used the words “AIDS” or “huts” to describe people from any country.
