Report: Rapping Adult Film Star Lobbying Trump To Free Convicted Murderer

The rapper reportedly believes he can mirror Kim Kardashian's efforts that saw the release of Alice Johnson.

Ray J, a rapper best known for co-starring in Kim Kardashian’s breakout adult movie performance and appearing in VH1 reality shows, is reportedly lobbying President Donald Trump to pardon Suge Knight.

Suge Knight, an infamous figure in hip-hop, was recently convicted of murder. He is serving a 28-year prison sentence.

XXL noted that Suge, founder of Death Row Records, was convicted “for killing Terry Carter and injuring Cle Sloan with his car on the set of the movie Straight Outta Compton January 2015.”

A source close to Ray J told the U.K.’s Daily Mail, which first reported the story, that the rapper hopes Trump will issue a presidential pardon for Suge because “he has learned from his wrong-doing and is ready to change his ways.”

Ray J also believes he can mirror Kardashian’s efforts, which saw Trump grant clemency for Alice Johnson, “who was convicted of drug trafficking in 1996 and was just released from prison last year,” the source said.

Those around the rapper are concerned a meeting with Trump could damage his career if he faces backlash from the African-American community.

"The people around Ray J keep telling him that the fallout with African Americans for meeting with Trump could be catastrophic to his career. Especially if he shows up at a political rally,” the source told the Daily Mail.
