Report: Macron Invited Iran To G7 To Undermine Donald Trump

France's Emmanuel Macron invited Iran to the G7 to show to show that U.S. was no longer central to Iran nuclear crisis.

France's Emmanuel Macron invited Iran to the G7 to show that the U.S. was no longer central to Iran nuclear negotiations.

“What that was was a statement that U.S. leadership has been sidelined. France, on behalf of partners in the G7 and taking charge of this situation, inviting someone who is not going to talk to the United States, it was a demonstration that U.S. leadership is not central to this issue and therefore President Trump is not central to this issue.”
