REBEKAH MERCER REPORTEDLY BEGGED STEPHEN BANNON NOT TO RESIGN FROM TRUMP ADMINISTRATION

Stephen Bannon has been clashing so much with fellow White House staffers in recent weeks that a longtime confidante had to convince him not to resign — and instead think about the “long term,” according to a report.

The former Breitbart News executive has gotten into regular quarrels with President Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, over political differences, five people with close knowledge of the matter told Politico. Both men are senior advisers to Trump but have wildly different ideas of policymaking, with Bannon generally taking a more populist approach.

Bannon’s clashes with Kushner and his aides have gotten so intense in the past few weeks that Rebekah Mercer, a Republican mega-donor and high-profile Trump booster, had to urge Bannon not to call it quits, a Politico source revealed.

“Rebekah Mercer prevailed upon him to stay,” the source said.
