Pompeo: It’s “Silly” To Claim That Trump Is Was Ever A National Security Threat

On Friday, the New York Times reported that following the firing of FBI director James B. Comey in 2017, the FBI opened an investigation into the possibility that President Trump is working for the interests of Russia and Putin. On Sunday, when asked about this report on “Face the Nation”, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo defended Trump in calling the idea “absolutely ludicrous”, according to Axios.

The Secretary of State asserted that the notion was not worthy of a response. Following the New York Times report on Friday, the Washington Post also released a report on Saturday that Trump had gone to extreme efforts to hide details about meetings and conversations with Putin.
