Nunes Starts Hearing By Blaming Media, Democrats For Trump’s Impeachment Inquiry

Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) began his opening remarks by attacking Democrats and the media at Tuesday's hearing.

Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) said during his opening remarks at Tuesday’s impeachment hearing that the media “lost the confidence of millions of Americans” with its “biased reporting on the Russia hoax.”

The Trump ally went on to claim that the media and Democrats have “learned no lessons” from the Russia investigation and are now attempting to fool the American people with an impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump’s actions regarding Ukraine.

Nunes said neither House Democrats nor the media are interested in hearing testimony from the intelligence community whistleblower whose complaint sparked the inquiry — though he failed to mention that numerous witnesses have corroborated the whistleblower’s account.

Instead, Nunes accused the media and Democrats of attempting to “stoke yet another partisan frenzy.”
