Israel, ostensibly an ally of Russia, is in a constant war of espionage and surveillance against Russia’s friend and ally Iran. Israel’s ambassador, Ron Dermer, did not answer specifics when asked about Trump’s latest Russia controversy. In typical diplomatic language, Mr. Dermer said, “Israel has full confidence in our intelligence-sharing relationship with the United States and looks forward to deepening that relationship in the years ahead under President Trump.”
At the start of Trump’s administration, Israel was skeptical of his relations with Russia. Members of the outgoing Obama administration had warned their Israeli partners to be careful with how President Trump handles intelligence matters and advised to hold back information if required.
