Nancy Pelosi: Trump Thinks Gov’t Workers Should Ask Their Parents For A Loan

He thinks maybe they could just ask their father for more money. But they can't." -Nancy Pelosi

Today, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi spoke on President Trump and the effects of the government shutdown on federal workers, according to a clip from CNN shared by Kyle Griffin on Twitter. Pelosi brought attention to the financial insecurity felt by federal workers, saying that many would be unable to pay their mortgages, rent, and tuition for their children because they are not receiving paychecks as a result of the shutdown.

"The president seems to be insensitive to that. He thinks maybe they could just ask their father for more money. But they can't." -Nancy Pelosi

This statement follows the President’s primetime national address which focused on his plan to build a border wall and demand for funding from Democrats. Senator Schumer and Speaker Pelosi also responded Tuesday night in a joint address.
