First Lady Melania Trump took a government jet to Mar-a-Lago on the same day the president canceled Nancy Pelosi's trip.

While listening to air traffic controls, Jake Sherman, a writer from Politico, discovered that First Lady Melania Trump was flying to Mar-a-Lago Thursday night on a government jet, according to the New York Post.

The First Lady’s trip comes hours after President Trump canceled House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s military flight to visit troops in Afghanistan.

In his official letter to Pelosi declaring the trip canceled, Trump wrote, “In light of the 800,000 great American workers not receiving pay, I am sure you would agree that postponing this public relations event is totally appropriate.”

However, in using the jet with the callsign EXEC1F to fly to Mar-a-Lago, it is clear that the First Lady was traveling via government transportation. All of this comes amidst Day 27 of the longest-ever government shutdown in U.S. history.
