Mick Mulvaney Reportedly Claimed Trump Can’t Fire Him, He ‘Knows Too Much’


The acting White House Chief of Staff allegedly told his associates that he’s confident that his position is secured.

Mick Mulvaney, acting White House Chief of Staff, has reportedly been telling his associates that his job is locked down because he “knows too much” amid the growing impeachment inquiry, according to The Week

Mulvaney has occupied his position as Chief of Staff for nearly a year now and has also run the Office of Management and Budget for all of Trump’s presidency. When it comes to Trump’s dealings with Ukraine, Mulvaney would have been put into two very consequential spots. 

The timeline would place Mulvaney in the position to have overseen the withholding of security funds to Ukraine, allegedly because Trump was seeking to investigate his political rivals, while he was running the OMB. 

The New York Times reported that Mulvaney told his associates “there is no easy way for Trump to fire him in the midst of the impeachment fight,” which suggested that “he knows too much” about Trump’s Ukraine “pressure campaign.”
