Michael Cohen Predicts Trump Will Steal Presidency Because He's Afraid Of Jail
According to Business Insider, President Trump’s former personal attorney argued in the forward of his new book that Trump will not leave office because he is terrified of prison.
- “Cohen released the foreword of his coming memoir, ‘Disloyal,’ on Thursday,” Insider reported, and “In it he paints a devastating portrait of his old boss.”
- Regarding Trump’s potential loss in the November election, Cohen wrote that he is “certain that Trump knows he will face prison time if he leaves office.”
"As the months passed by and I thought about the man I knew so well, I became even more convinced that Trump will never leave office peacefully," Cohen wrote.
"The types of scandals that have surfaced in recent months will only continue to emerge with greater and greater levels of treachery and deceit. If Trump wins another four years, these scandals will prove to only be the tip of the iceberg."
"I'm certain that Trump knows he will face prison time if he leaves office, the inevitable cold Karma to the notorious chants of 'Lock Her Up!'" he added, referring to the popular campaign chant at 2016 Trump rallies attacking Hillary Clinton.
- Though the attorney did not detail the crimes for which Trump might fear prison time, Cohen did hint at a number of scandalous possibilities, writing: "From golden showers in a sex club in Vegas, to tax fraud, to deals with corrupt officials from the former Soviet Union, to catch and kill conspiracies to silence Trump's clandestine lovers, I wasn't just a witness to the president's rise — I was an active and eager participant."
- Insider noted that Trump himself has suggested he might not accept the results of the November election, telling Fox News’ Chris Wallace last month: "I have to see. Look, you — I have to see. No, I'm not going to just say yes. I'm not going to say no, and I didn't last time either.”
The White House has dismissed Cohen’s claims, describing the forward as “fan fiction.”
