During a discussion on President Donald Trump's planned primetime address tonight, CNN's Jim Sciutto asked Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) if he is concerned that Trump will lie to the American people as he makes the case for a crisis at the border.
Manchin's response? The White House needs to find out who is "drastically misinforming" the president and fire them.
The senator also said he would support Trump's decision to declare a national emergency in order to fund his border wall if that is what it takes to reopen the federal government.
"If that's what the president believes he has the right to do -- it will be fought in courts," Manchin said, before imploring Trump to make his move. "Mr. President, please, move on with that. Let us open government back up."
