Lindsey Graham Launches Senate Investigation Into The Biden Family

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham (R-SC) has opened an inquiry into Joe Biden over his activity in Ukraine as former vice president, according to The Daily Beast.
Graham sent a letter to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Thursday requesting relevant documents, and reportedly is focusing “on any calls Biden may have had with former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko about the firing of the country’s top prosecutor, or any calls that referenced Burisma, the Ukrainian gas company where Biden’s son Hunter sat on the board.”
The Republican lawmaker and staunch defender of the president appears to be pursuing the theory that Biden pressured Ukraine to terminate its top prosecutor in an effort to protect his son — a theory that has been largely debunked but persistently pushed by Trump allies.
Graham spokeswoman Taylor Reidy told The Washington Post that the senator is launching the investigation because “[Rep.] Adam Schiff and the House Intel Committee have made it clear they will not look into the issues about Hunter Biden and Burisma.”
Reidy added: “Graham is requesting documents which could shed additional light on that issue and hopes they will be able to answer some of the outstanding questions.”
