Lindsey Graham: “I Don’t Care” If Migrants Are Held In Camps For 400 Days

Graham said it would be "dangerous" to release migrants.

TPM Livewire reports that on Fox News, Senator Lindsey Graham said he did not care if migrants had to remain in detention “facilities for 400 days.”

“I saw a system completely overwhelmed for no good reason,” Graham began. U.S. law mandates that a child cannot be detained for more than 20 days, so after 20 days, whole families have been released to avoid separation. Graham maintains, “we can’t process a case in 20 days.”

Graham went on to praise border patrol officers, saying that they were doing a good job under difficult conditions.

Graham said he was unwilling to let the migrants go from the facilities. “I don’t care if they have to stay in these facilities for 400 days,” he said. “It would be dangerous” to let them go, in his opinion.

Unfortunately, it is also “dangerous” for the migrants to stay in the facilities, which are overcrowded and unsanitary.
