Graham took to Twitter to gush over his game with the president, saying:
White House spokesman Raj Shah said the two discussed the Republican tax plan, and Graham acknowledged they talked about North Korea, Iran and immigration as well.
This marked the third time Trump and Graham spent time together golfing:
Graham and Trump played two rounds of golf together in October. Around that time was when South Carolina’s senior senator was trying to build momentum for his plan to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare. Trump had voiced support for Graham’s failed attempt.
Graham's post-inauguration warming to the president comes after a brutal 2016 election season, when the South Carolina senator spared no punches, with tweets like:
"Donald Trump is not a conservative Republican. He's an opportunist. He's not fit to be President of the United States."
"If we nominate Trump, we will get destroyed.......and we will deserve it."
"I have never been comfortable with Donald Trump as our Republican nominee."
