Limbaugh Returns To Radio After Treatment To Mock "Implosion" Of Democrats
Conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh returned to the airwaves on Friday following treatment for his recently disclosed lung cancer and immediately began attacking Democrats.
Limbaugh was presented with the Medal of Freedom on Tuesday during President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address, one day after announcing his cancer diagnosis.
Fox News reported that Limbaugh — who was out for three days receiving the treatments — mocked the “implosion” of the Democratic Party upon his return.
“You know, I don’t like to brag… but everything happening to the Democrat Party today, if you go back… you’ll find that I predicted the implosion of the Democrat Party and that’s exactly what it is,” Limbaugh said.
He added that Democrats have “lost their entire moral foundation” as they have become consumed with hatred.
“Hatred is a poison, it destroys you,” he said. “Hatred can never make you happy.”
Limbaugh later downplayed his cancer diagnosis, telling listeners: “Millions of you have been through it. It’s nothing that millions of Americans aren’t experiencing… so you don’t need me sharing all of the details with you.”
Interestingly, as noted by New York Daily News, Limbaugh downplayed the health risks associated with smoking years ago on his radio show.
In 2015, the host denied to a caller that secondhand smoke is dangerous and claimed smokers do not get cancer until they have smoked for 50 years.
“The caller was questioning Limbaugh’s logic that society should be thankful for smokers because of the tax money generated from the sale of tobacco products,” the Daily News reported.
Limbaugh denied that secondhand smoke has caused a single death, saying: “That is a myth. That has been disproven at the World Health Organization and the report was suppressed. There is no fatality whatsoever. There’s no even major sickness component associated with secondhand smoke. It may irritate you, and you may not like it, but it will not make you sick, and it will not kill you.”
