Kenosha GOP Chair Excuses Accused Double Murderer: ‘80% Support What Kyle Did’

Kenosha County Republican Party Chair Erin Decker appeared to defend accused double murderer Kyle Rittenhouse on Tuesday during an appearance on Fox & Friends, saying most people she knows in Kenosha are supportive of the 17-year-old’s actions.
- RawStory reported that “Decker praised President Donald Trump for ‘sending in the troops’ to respond to the protests,” which came in response to the police shooting of Jacob Blake.
- As for Kyle Rittenhouse, who was charged in the fatal shootings of two protesters last week, Decker had nothing negative to say, RawStory noted.
- “I believe the same people that support Donald Trump and are happy that he came into the city or sent troops into the city — and that includes Republicans and independents and Democrats — I believe they are the same people that support Kyle Rittenhouse,” Decker told the Fox News hosts.
- She also “suggested that Rittenhouse is innocent because ‘it looks like [it was] self defense.’”
“Talking to people around the area, I would say about 80% support what Kyle did,” Decker added. “And 20% is probably, you know, that can’t stand Donald Trump and can’t stand [anything] conservative or Republican and they’re just going to attack anything that resembles that.”
