Karen Pence said during a 'Women for Mark Harris' rally last week that "We need good men like Mark Harris in Congress."

According to Newsweek, Karen Pence campaigned for a GOP candidate who likely stole an election and also once bemoaned the fact that homosexuality was no longer criminalized. She spoke at a Women for Mark Harris rally in North Carolina on Monday as Harris fought for a seat in the House of Representatives.

“I’m here because this race is so important,” Pence said. “The road to the majority leads right through North Carolina. This seat, this race, it is critical to keeping the majority in Congress.”

“We need good men like Mark Harris in Congress to keep the country moving ahead.”

Harris has long harbored extreme anti-LGBT views. At a “rally for liberty” in 2015 Harris lamented the moral degradation of the country, pointing to the legality of homosexuality.

“In one generation you and I have witnessed this country sliding from a nation who once shared a moral vision based on Judeo-Christian ethic to a nation floundering in moral decay,” Harris said.

“In one generation we have watched our nation who once believed in lifelong marriages to the same spouse to a divorce rate now well over 50 percent. We have watched in one generation where homosexuality was once criminalized to now we see the criminalization of Christianity. And I could go on and on with the entertainment, with the education, with the life issue.”

Harris has been endorsed by the Family Research Council, which has been designated as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center. He also claimed that the momentum behind LGBT rights was an effort to “eventually recognize pedophiles as the 'prophets' of a new sexual order.”

Harris’s win against democrat Dan McCready is now being contested by the North Carolina State Board of Elections.
