John Bolton: Trump’s Turkey Policy Is Influenced By Personal Financial Interests
Darren.Woon
John Bolton, former national security adviser, accused Trump of being motivated by personal or financial interests in his policies towards Turkey at a private gathering last week in a global investment event organized by Morgan Stanley, according to The Hill.
NBC News reported on Tuesday that Bolton made a comment suggesting that he believed that Trump pursued his personal interests in maintaining a business relationship in Turkey and questioned whether he should apply his business acumen to foreign policy.
During Bolton’s speech, he noted that he kept a resignation letter ready in his desk for months before finally leaving the Trump White House earlier in 2019.
House Democrats are currently attempting to obtain testimony from Bolton for the ongoing impeachment inquiry, but have so far been unsuccessful.
