Joe Scarborough: People Close To Trump Worry That He’s Losing His Mind
MSNBC host Joe Scarborough claimed people close to the president told him they are concerned about the president’s pre-dementia symptoms, an allegation Scarborough has pushed on television for the past two years, according to Talking Points Memo.
“The people closest to him told us that they feared that he was in mental decline. People very close to him told us that he feared he was pre-dementia, that he had changed. You watch Donald Trump in the late 1980s, even in the 90s, you watch him now, he is completely changed,” said the host.
The president is far from possessing the mental acuity of national figures like House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), who recently escalated her attacks on Trump after a disastrous infrastructure meeting on Thursday, said the MSNBC figure.
Trump reacted by questioning Pelosi’s mental health on Twitter this Thursday, saying “she cannot put a subject with a predicate in the same sentence. What’s going on?”
In 2017, Scarborough said the president reminded him of his mother, who had Alzheimer's for 10 years. “It's getting worse, and not a single person who works for him doesn’t know he has early signs of dementia,” he added at the time.
Mental health professionals, including Yale psychiatry professor Bandy Lee, warned about the president’s deteriorating mental condition in major media outlets this April.
