Vinny Guadagnino, of "Jersey Shore" fame, schooled President Donald Trump on climate change following a Thursday tweet in which the president said parts of the U.S. "could use a little bit of that good old Global Warming".
“I think climate change is more complex than global warming will make it hotter,” Guadagnino tweeted to Trump. “It has to do with disruptions of atmospheric conditions, ocean patterns, jet streams and s--t like that.”
Guadagnino suffered some backlash for the tweet, with other Twitter users questioning why a New Jersey partier would have authority to speak on the issue of climate change:
"Per my last tweet about global warming and ppl saying it’s bad when someone from “jersey shore” educates the president etc.I get the joke but why does having a summer shore house automatically make u stupid? No smart ppl ever partied with friends on weekends?"
Trump has demonstrated a need for education when it comes to global warming, an issue he has previously said was “created by and for the Chinese in order to make U.S. manufacturing non-competitive.”
His recent tweet was in advance of a markedly cold spell falling over a significant portion of the eastern U.S., with some places expecting record-breaking temperatures over New Year's weekend.
