Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel's Prime Minister, has been indicted by Israel's attorney general, according to the Independent.

Netanyahu was being prosecuted in three different corruption cases. He was attempting to secure immunity, but eventually succumbed. Netanyahu is currently in Washington as the Trump administration reveals its Middle-East peace plan.

Netanyahu is Israel's longest-running prime minister. In November, he was officially charged with fraud, breach of trust and bribery. All three charges were pursued in separate cases. Netanyahu referred to the legal proceedings as a "political witch hunt."

Netanyahu now faces trial and argued that he, “was not given due process… I decided not to allow this dirty game to continue.”
