Pastor Steven L Anderson, an American, is the first person to be barred from entering Ireland in the country’s history.

According to Axios, Ireland has banned the pastor of Faithful Word Baptist Church in Temp, an organization labeled as an “anti-gay hate group” by the Southern Poverty Law Center, from entering the country.

Pastor Steven L. Anderson once applauded the gunman responsible for the shooting at Florida’s Pulse nightclub and prayed for the death of then-President Obama.

Anderson will be the first person ever barred from entering the country by means of exclusion powers. Justice Minister Charlie Flanagan signed the order prohibiting the entry of the pastor, who was due to give a sermon to a Dublin congregation on May 26.
