In Unhinged Interview, Trump Claims Americans Need IDs To Purchase Cereal

President Donald Trump appears clueless about the ins and outs of grocery shopping in the United States.

Sometimes President Donald Trump makes foolish statements, and during his Wednesday interview with The Daily Caller, the president did not disappoint.

Among several outrageous comments Trump made during the sit down — including the claim that illegal voters put on disguises so they can vote illegally more than once — the president claimed for a second time that Americans must present their IDs when buying groceries.

Via New York Magazine:

> “If you buy a box of cereal — you have a voter ID,” Trump continued. “They try to shame everybody by calling them racist, or calling them something, anything they can think of, when you say you want voter ID. But voter ID is a very important thing.”

> There is no requirement to present identification to purchase cereal.

After Trump made a similar claim in August, White House press secretary Sarah Sanders clarified that he meant ID was necessary when buying alcohol.

If the explanation wasn’t believable then — which it wasn’t — it surely is not believable now.
