Contradicting the concerns of his own national security adviser, President Donald Trump praised North Korea’s successful missile launch tests in a tweet on Sunday:

“North Korea fired off some small weapons, which disturbed some of my people, and others, but not me. I have confidence that Chairman Kim will keep his promise to me, & also smiled when he called Swampman Joe Biden a low IQ individual, & worse. Perhaps that’s sending me a signal?”

According to Time, “some” of Trump’s “people” who are concerned about North Korea’s “small weapons” include national security adviser John Bolton, who stated on Saturday that North Korea’s short-range missile launches violated U.N. Security Council mandates.

“There is no doubt about that,” Bolton said.
