Billionaire rapper Kanye West has admitted that his presidential bid is part of a ploy to siphon votes from Democratic presumptive nominee Joe Biden, according to Forbes.

  • Various reports have emerged that Republicans and Trump-linked officials have been attempting to get West onto the ballot in multiple states.
  • When told that he had no chance in the 2020 election as he wouldn’t be on enough ballots to yield 270 electoral votes, and would merely serve as a spoiler candidate, West responded:

“I’m not going to argue with you. Jesus is King.”

  • President Trump told reporters at the White House:

“I like Kanye very much. No, I have nothing to do with him getting on the ballot. We'll have to see what happens.”

  • West has been a vocal Trump supporter in the past, previously visiting the president in the Oval Office. However in an interview last month, West expressed his dissatisfaction with the President after reports that he hid in a bunker during the Black Lives Matter protests going on in D.C. He claimed to be dumping Trump after the interview:

“I am taking the red hat off, with this interview. It looks like one big mess to me. I don’t like that I caught wind that he hid in the bunker.”
