In 2017, Matt Gaetz Said Trump Should 'Absolutely' Release His Tax Returns

JakeThomas

Rep. Matt Gaetz, one of President Trump's most ardent defenders, said in 2017 that he should release his tax returns.

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) told a room full of people that President Donald Trump "absolutely" should make his tax returns public—but the Florida Republican stopped short of saying that Congress should subpoena the documents.

In another clip, Gaetz comes right out and states that he is against Congress making a move to obtain the president's tax returns, saying, "I don't believe that the Congress has the power to unilaterally force any one American to release their tax returns, nor should we."

Didn’t Trump say several times that he wanted to release his tax returns?
