"The day Richard Nixon failed to answer that subpoena is the day that he was subject to impeachment," Graham said.

In 1988, Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) inadvertently made a case for Trump’s impeachment while discussing Nixon’s failure to hand over secret White House recordings according to The Week.

Graham said Nixon “failed to comply with subpoenas of Congress” when it was Nixon’s “job to comply” with the things Congress “need[ed].” Graham continued that instead, Nixon “took… the impeachment process away from Congress” and “became the judge and jury.”

"The day Richard Nixon failed to answer that subpoena is the day that he was subject to impeachment," Graham said.

On Wednesday, Trump similarly failed to answer a subpoena from Congress. He cited his executive privilege, as Nixon did more than three decades ago.
