If President Donald Trump loses the 2020 election and refuses to concede, Secret Service could have to physically remove Trump from the White House, according to MSNBC host Lawrence O’Donnell.
> Appearing on Bill Maher’s “Real Time" on HBO, O’Donnell said he thinks Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) will defeat Trump in 2020.
> “The most likely ending of it is when Elizabeth Warren, or whoever the Democratic nominee is, beats him in the next election,” O’Donnell said.
> “You think if he loses the election he will just greet her at the door?” Maher responded.
O’Donnell said it doesn’t matter, because the Supreme Court chief justice will swear in the next president regardless:
> “She becomes president because of the time of day, not because of anything he does,” O’Donnell said. “He doesn’t have to show up, he never has to concede. … The second she takes that oath, she’s the president, he isn’t any longer, Secret Service will physically remove him from the building if he’s still there.”
The Hill noted that Warren has said she hasn't confirmed whether she will run for president in 2020, but she’s still considered one of dozens who could try to unseat Trump — include other big names like former Vice President Joe Biden and Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders.
