HOUSE INTELLIGENCE COMMITTEE REQUESTS THAT WHITE HOUSE DELIVER COMEY TAPES BY JUNE 23RD

The House Select Committee on Intelligence has asked that any tapes in the White House’s possession containing discussions between former FBI Director James Comey and President Donald Trump be delivered to the Committee no later than June 23, 2017.

The Committee is also asking that Mr. Comey transfers any memorandums in his possession that detail interactions between himself and the President.

The letter released by the Committee was drafted by both the Committee’s Republican Chairman and its Democratic Ranking Member.

The Committee wants White House Counsel Don McGahn to confirm or deny the existence of such tapes or if such tapes ever existed as well. It appears the official letters were sent this evening. The White House has not responded to as of yet.
