Herman Cain, a former Republican presidential candidate, has tested positive for COVID-19.

“Former Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain has been hospitalized after testing positive for COVID-19,” reported Talking Points Memo.

  • A statement posted to his Twitter account said that Cain “developed symptoms serious enough” to require hospitalization, and “he spent Wednesday night in an Atlanta-area hospital.”
  • As of Thursday, Cain is reportedly “awake and alert” and “did not require a respirator.”
  • The statement noted that “there is no way of knowing for sure how or where Mr. Cain contracted the coronavirus.”

This news follows the events of a couple of weeks ago, when “Cain posted a photo of himself at Trump’s Tulsa rally, which was held indoors and did not require face masks to be worn.”
