Heir To Murdoch Fortune Says People Need To Be More Tolerant Of Fox News

Lachlan Murdoch said Americans need to be more tolerant of others' views, when asked about Fox News' primetime hosts.

Onstage with Andrew Ross Sorkin of The New York Times at the DealBook conference on Thursday, Lachlan Murdoch — son of media mogul Rupert Murdoch — expressed his desire that Americans be more tolerant of the conservative views held by Fox News’ primetime hosts.

Asked by The New Yorker’s Ken Auletta if he is “embarrassed by what they do”, Murdoch responded: “No, I’m not embarrassed by what they do at all.”

“You have to understand that Fox News is the only mass media company in America, in this country, with...strong conservative opinion in primetime,” he said. “And I frankly feel in this country, we all have to be more tolerant of each other’s views.”
