GROUP RELEASES AD TYING GEORGIA CANDIDATE JON OSSOFF TO CONGRESSIONAL SHOOTING

An advertisement released by a group called “the Principled PAC” ties Democratic Candidate Jon Ossoff to the recent Congressional shooting.

The ad features Republican Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) on a stretcher after a series of gunshots.

The ad starts with a narrator saying, “The unhinged left is endorsing and applauding shooting Republicans.”

The narration then continues, “When will it stop? It won’t if Mr. Ossoff wins on Tuesday.”

The ad goes on to show Kathy Griffin holding a fake replica of President Donald Trump’s head. It then claims that “Unhinged leftists [are] cheering last week’s shooting are [they] all backing Jon Ossoff. And if he wins, they win.”

Mr. Ossoff called the advertisement, “disgraceful.”

Speaking about Congressman Scalise, Mr. Ossoff said, “The man is fighting for his life. I think it’s disgraceful to politicize it, and I think Secretary Handel should call for it to come down.” He added, “You have a national tragedy that has united people. There are still be who are in critical condition. It’s just got no place in an attack ad.”

Karen Handel (R-GA) has yet to call for the ad to come down, but her spokeswoman called the ad, “disturbing and disgusting” to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
