GOP Voter: I’m Voting Biden Because I Don't Want My Grandson To Admire Trump
Tom, a lifelong Republican voter from Pennsylvania, said in a video for Republican Voters Against Trump (RVAT) that he is voting for Joe Biden in 2020, marking the first time he has voted for a Democrat for president.
- “The main reason for me is my grandson. I do not want my grandson growing up thinking that the way Trump handles problems is how people do,” he said.
- “To simply disparage people and to insult them and be confrontative with anyone who disagrees with you is just not how we get things done.”
- Tom said Trump has “just been a shame to all of us,” pointing to the president’s handling of foreign policy and “the way he handles people around him.”
“I don’t want my grandson to think that’s how people react. So I’m voting for Joe Biden. I think he will admit to making mistakes without lying about that. He has what seems to be a very good character. He will do a much better job of foreign policy. He will handle people around him in a way — in a normal way.”
- Tom concluded: “I think Trump is handling things so poorly. And especially with this pandemic, to simply not trust the experts around him. It’s not what we deserve.”
