Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) told the WSJ he learned in August that Trump was holding aid in return for investigations.

According to an interview Senator Ron Johnson gave the Wall Street Journal, the Wisconsin Republican became aware in August that President Donald Trump was possibly withholding U.S. aid from Ukraine in return for a favor.

The senator said he spoke with Trump regarding the issue on August 31, at which time Johnson recalls the president responding: "He said--expletive deleted--'No way. I would never do that. Who told you that?"
