GOP Lawmaker: I Have Evidence The Election Was Rigged But I Can’t Show It To You

Rep. Clay Higgins claimed that Republicans have "a preponderance of evidence" that election crimes were committed.

Rep. Clay Higgins (R-LA) claimed on CNN that “we have a preponderance of evidence that election crimes may have been committed in six of the sovereign states.”

However, Higgins — who intends to object to congressional certification of the election results tomorrow, was unable to produce any such evidence.

When CNN’s Jim Sciutto asked the Republican to give one example, Higgins said “Georgia changed the statutory requirements for reviewing signatures.” Sciutto interrupted to say that Higgins’ claim was untrue.

Higgins powered through the interruption, at one point saying he could “go on and on” with examples.

“Georgia election official [Gabriel] Sterling rejected that very — he rejected it point by point yesterday. So I’m asking what evidence you have to contradict the state Republican election official there, as you’re claiming right now,” Sciutto said. “What evidence do you have?”
