GOP CONGRESSMAN: DESPITE HIS FLAWS, TRUMP IS “SMALL POTATOES COMPARED TO NAZI GERMANY”

At his town hall, Republican Congressman Tom Garrett, Jr. of Virginia told the attendees that, “America has overcome amazing challenges that Donald Trump, as frightening as he is to some people, small potatoes compared to Nazi Germany.”

It’s not clear if Mr. Garret is attempting to calm his audience or if he was just making an anecdotal observation.

In many ways, the Congressman is correct.

President Trump has yet to open concentration camps (though he appeared to be open to them at one point) or begin a genocide (though his healthcare plan does fit the definition of democide, however).

A woman was later ejected from the Congressman’s town hall for being a too vocal in her support of the Affordable Care Act, something the Congressman voted to repeal.

While maybe the U.S. is not quite Nazi-Germany yet, it is getting harder to believe that Republicans value Democracy or dissenting viewpoints.
