GEORGE W. BUSH’S ETHICS ATTORNEY CALLS FOR TRUMP’S IMPEACHMENT

Richard W. Painter, ethics attorney to President George W. Bush, called for Congress to impeach Donald Trump if the President doesn’t comply with Congress’s demand for documents relating to Mike Flynn.

Mike Flynn, Trump’s ex-national security adviser, resigned back in February following reports that he had lied about the nature of his telephone conversations with Russia’s ambassador to the United States.

The White House legally does not have to produce records without a subpoena however.

Congressional Democrats would require Republicans to support order for a subpoena to be issued.

So far, almost without exception, Congressional Republicans have been unwilling to investigate Trump’s troubling connections to Russian oligarchs and organized crime figures.
