Frank Luntz On Fox: Baseball Fans Should Be ‘Held Accountable’ For Booing Trump
Appearing on Fox News this week, Republican pollster Frank Lutz said World Series fans who booed President Donald Trump on Sunday should be “held accountable,” Mediaite reported.
Lutz made the remark after Laura Ingraham, host of The Ingraham Angle, played a clip of historian Tim Naftali discussing the situation on CNN.
“You should hope that the president can go into a public space that has not been vetted or curated and not only get respect, but show respect, and this is the issue with someone who comes in to try to destroy being presidential,” Naftali said in the clip.
Asked for his thoughts, Lutz compared the situation to Hillary Clinton labeling half of Trump supporters as “deplorables” during the 2016 election, adding that some type of consequence should be had by those who booed Trump.
“The fact is, they should hold those fans accountable,” Luntz said. “You don’t boo the president. You may disagree with him, you may think that he’s not what you wanted, but you don’t boo him. You show respect to him.”
They went on to discuss how Washington is largely made up of Democrats, which guest Byron York said explains why former President Barack Obama’s inauguration crowd was larger than Trump’s.
