Democrats only desire to end the for-profit prison industry because they want open borders, Ingraham said.

The “real reason” Democrats and others on the left want to see the private prison industry go bust is because they are proponents of “open borders,” according to Fox News host Laura Ingraham.

Ingraham made the comment during her show, The Ingraham Angle, on Tuesday night, Media Matters reported.

“We warned you last week that California is the incubator for the left's wildest ideas, and the state legislature recently passed a bill banning for-profit prisons in the state,” the host said, adding, “Sounds like a lofty goal.”

But perhaps it is not so lofty, Ingraham proposed: “Now, we all know the real reason for this -- open borders.”

Her proof?

“Here is what the head of an activist group behind the bill told a local outlet: ‘People do not need to be transferred. We've had closures in the state of California, and we were able to have just and humane closures where many people were released to their families.’”
