Fox News Host Shepard Smith Announces He Is Leaving The Network

Fox News' Shepard Smith announced that Friday's show was his last with the network.

Fox News host Shepard Smith announced on Friday that he is leaving the network, noting that this was his last appearance on-air.

Coincidentally, Attorney General William Barr met with Fox News owner Rupert Murdoch just two days prior, though the contents of their discussion remains unknown.

President Donald Trump, once a huge fan of the network, has increasingly complained that Fox News no longer treats him fairly, often singling news anchors for his wrath while praising primetime opinion hosts.

According to HuffPost, Smith said in a statement: “Recently I asked the company to allow me to leave FOX News and begin a new chapter. After requesting that I stay, they graciously obliged. The opportunities afforded this guy from small town Mississippi have been many. It’s been an honor and a privilege to report the news each day to our loyal audience in context and with perspective, without fear or favor.”
