Fox: Even If Bolton Has Knowledge Of Trump Extorting UKR, It’s Not Impeachable

Fox News anchor Dagen McDowell argued that the president isn't impeachable even if allegations against him are true.

Fox business anchor Dagen McDowell claimed that President Trump is not impeachable even if the allegations that he extorted Ukraine are true, according to Media Matters

Former national security adviser John Bolton’s upcoming book alleges that President Trump told him to keep aid to Ukraine frozen until the country launched an investigation into former vice president Joe Biden and his son, Hunter.

Trump responded on Twitter: “I never told John Bolton that the aid to Ukraine was tied to investigations into Democrats including the Bidens. In fact, he never complained about this at the time of his very public termination. If John Bolton said this, it was only to sell a book.”

McDowell argued that Bolton’s book was a PR stunt by the publishers of the book in order to gain more publicity amid the ongoing Senate impeachment trial.

“This is about selling books and how it changes the impeachment process,” she said.

“I will just quote from Andy McCarthy, because he said this over and over again on Fox News and on Twitter: ‘For the millionth time, POTUS’ strategy should have been steer clear of the underlying facts, argue that even if all this is true, that he squeezed the Ukraine, nothing happened and it’s not impeachable. Fighting on quid pro quo always made him vulnerable to Bolton and other shoes dropping, asking for trouble,” McDowell continued.
