Fox contributor Tammy Bruce appeared on Fox & Friends and criticized California’s new law that would expand its insurance program to all working poor under the age of 26 regardless of immigration status, Media Matters tweeted.
The Medicare program, known as Medi-Cal, was expanded because of a $21.5 billion surplus in the state’s budget. The talk show hosts did not include this information and instead focused on the projected cost of the first year, $98 million.
“[The state of California] did not pass a bill that would’ve given healthcare to seniors,” the Fox contributor confidently claimed.
According to the California Department of Health Care Services, persons age 65 or older are provided with comprehensive preventive care services as well as primary and specialty care, which includes mental health services and dental care.
