Former White House doctor Ronny Jackson says he had to get creative to improve President Trump's diet.

Former White House physician Ronny Jackson claims he used to hide cauliflower in President Donald Trump’s mashed potatoes in an effort to make the president’s diet more healthy, according to The Hill.

Jackson, who left the White House after withdrawing his name for consideration for Veterans Affairs secretary, told The New York Times he regretted leaving before he could fully implement his diet and exercise plan to help Trump lose weight.

The doctor had announced in 2018 that he wanted to help the president shed 10 to 15 pounds.

“The exercise stuff never took off as much as I wanted it to,” Jackson said. “But we were working on his diet. We were making the ice cream less accessible, we were putting cauliflower into the mashed potatoes.”

Jackson made waves after the 2018 press conference in which he said Trump had “incredible genes” and performed “exceedingly well” on a cognitive exam. The physician also said if Trump had enjoyed a more healthy diet, he could have lived to 200 years old.

The Hill reported that Jackson is currently running for a House seat in Texas’ 13th District and has touted his relationship with Trump on the campaign trail.
