Former Governor John Kasich (R-OH) is to speak in support of Joe Biden at the upcoming Democratic National Convention

The Republican former governor of Ohio, John Kasich, is set to speak at the Democratic National Convention next month in support of Joe Biden, according to Cleveland.com.

  • Kasich is one of a number of high-profile Republicans working against President Trump’s reelection campaign.
  • John Weaver, Kasich’s 2016 campaign manager, co-founded the Lincoln Project, a group that is airing anti-Trump ads. The former Ohio GOP chair, Matt Borges, has formed a pro-Biden super PAC.
  • The report noted that in the 2016 election, “Kasich ran unsuccessfully for the GOP nomination against Trump and skipped the Republican National Convention that year.”
