Hillsborough County resident Agustin Alanis has broken a Guinness World Record by watching “Avengers: Endgame” more than 110 times, according to the Miami Herald.
Alanis was attempting to set the record for most cinema productions attended (of the same film). The previous record-holder, Anthony Mitchell, watched “Avengers: Infinity War” 103 times in 2018.
In order to provide evidence to Guinness, Alanis posted a selfie with the movie ticket on Twitter before each screening. Guinness has not yet responded to any requests for comments.
“Avengers: Endgame” has a running screen time of 181 minutes. Alanis has viewed it at least 110 times. The total adds up to nearly 332 hours of watching the film since its release on April 22.
On his 103rd viewing, Alanis thanked Mitchell on Twitter for being the source of his inspiration: “Today I tie this legend @NemRaps with 103 views watching the same film in theaters. You sparked this to be done, so I honor you brother,” he said.
